Chincoteague Pony Foals (21 - 30) For Sale With Info

This year's Annual Pony Auction will be conducted on-line, as it was last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Restrictions were lifted too late for the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company to develop plans for an in-person auction this year at the CVFC Carnival Grounds on Main Street.  Next year's sale - on Thursday, 28 July - will take place on Chincoteague Island, as usual.
This year's  Auction will start on July 22nd at 7:00 pm EDT. It will end on July 29th at 7:00 pm EDT. The auction is being held by sporthorseauctions.com and you must register with them to place a bid or purchase a foal.

All of the photos I will be posting were taken by, and are the property of, DSC Photography.  They make their living from selling photos of the ponies.  They have a marvelous website, where you can look at and purchase a huge variety of photos of the ponies, including this year's foals.  You can visit their website at:  https://dscphotography.net/   If you purchase their photos, their copyright info is not on the photo.

Here are foals 21 through 30 - with birth number, date of birth, color and sex, and the name of the dam first with the sire named second  (because we don't have that many stallions compared to the mares)...  Ponies with an asterisk (*) before their names are direct descendants of Misty of Chincoteague.  I try to post views of both sides, and occasionally the face, or rump, of each foal:

21      29 April      chestnut pinto filly      Surfin' Chantel and Maverick

22      30 April     palomino pinto colt     Little Miss Sunshine and DLS2 (Don Leonard Stud II)

23      30 April      chestnut colt      Destiny Feathering Star and Ken

24      2 May      *black pinto filly      Miss Admiral Halsey and *Beach Boy
Unfortunately, this foal died within 1 week of birth due to unknown reasons

25      2 May      bay colt      CLG Ember and Chief (Chief Golden Eagle)

26      2 May      *chestnut pinto filly      *WH Surfette and Ajax

27      3 May      bay pinto filly      Little Bit o'Joansie and Ace (Ace's Black Tie Affair)
I am not certain about the status of this foal - the last photos taken of her were on 27 May; but she has not been listed as deceased.  It is possible the mare is staying hidden, but this is unusual...

28      3 May   bay pinto filly      Miracle's Natural Beauty and Ajax

29      4 May      palomino pinto colt      Surfer Princess and Legacy (Tornado's Legacy)
****  Long and lean now; sire and full-uncle Riptide are built like tanks ****

30      4 May      chestnut filly      CLG Bay Princess and DLS2
