Nine Breeders Cup World Championship Races At Keeneland on 5 November 2022

If everything flows right, with no injuries or illness, 103 of the top racing Thoroughbreds in the world will compete in 9 races with purses totaling $21 million on Saturday, 5 November, at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky.  The Breeders Cup World Championship races will hold their 39th annual event on Friday and Saturday this week.  The 5 races specifically for 2-year-olds have already been detailed in my blog.  This post is about the 9 races that will ask the most out of the 103 horses, aged 3 through 8 years, running for glory and huge purses at Keeneland.
All nine of the races will be televised.  USA Network and Fanduel Sports will broadcast the first six races, probably beginning at 11:30 a.m. EDT (9:30 MDT), as the first Breeders Cup race is scheduled to enter the starting gate at 11:50 a.m. EDT.  NBC will carry the final 3 Breeders Cup races of the day - the Distaff is set to enter the starting gate at 3:55 p.m. EDT (1:55 MDT) - so I'd guess coverage would begin at 3:30 pm EDT.
Three of the races are designated for female runners only; the other six races are open to both sexes, and the girls are challenging the boys in four other races.  The only two contests with all male entries are the Dirt Mile and the Classic.
The races on this day have weight assignments for both age and sex.  Horses racing on Saturday were bred in the United States; Ontario, Canada; Ireland; Great Britain; France; Germany; Japan; Argentina; Brazil; and Chile.  One of the sires was bred in Australia; and one sire is a Triple Crown winner.
I will write a little bit about each race and the horses in each race before I list the entries.  The entries in the field will include post position, name of entry, (age of entry), weight assignedmorning line betting odds, name of sire, and name of dam.  Remember that horses will be assigned different weights to carry due to sex, age, and where they were born.   ...   Here we go.
The Fillies & Mares Sprint is the first Breeders Cup race of Saturday, run at a distance of 7 furlongs (7/8 mile) on the main dirt track, with a purse of $1 million.  Fourteen entries are allowed, but there are only thirteen.  The ladies entered range in age from 3 to 6 years.  Five-year-old Chain Of Love was bred in Japan; the rest in the United States.  Slammed was bred in New Mexico, Hot Peppers was bred in Florida, Sterling Silver was bred in New York; the other nine were bred in Kentucky.  Three of the ladies are chestnut, three are gray/roans, and seven are bays or dark browns.  Stallion Gun Runner has two 3-year-old daughters in the field.
