**** Pony Swim Update - King Neptune this year is foal #28 **** The annual auction of the Chincoteague Pony foals at Chincoteague Island's Pony Penning will take place on Thursday, 28 July 2022. The place is the Auction area between the pony pens and the regular Carnival Grounds located on Main Street on Chincoteague Island, Virginia. The auction is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. EDT (6 a.m. MDT) sharp. At the moment, 67 foals have been born to the herds roaming the Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge on the Virginia end of Assateague Island National Seashore. We lost one foal this year, so there are 66 of them in the corrals. If any foals are born between the original posting of this blog, and the morning of the Auction, they will be added to the listing.
