Chincoteague Pony Auction Results for 2021

The on-line Chincoteague Pony Auction was on-going for a week, and ended tonight, Thursday, 29 July.  Had it taken place in person, as it usually does, the Auction would have started at 8 a.m. EDT on the Carnival Grounds on south Main Street. and continued until all lots were sold.  This year, there were 6 items donated to the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company to help raise funds for fire equipment and training, besides the ponies being auctioned.
The items donated were a hand-made quilt featuring the ponies, a hand-knitted shawl with ponies included in the pattern, hand-made wind chimes made of a horseshoe and shells, a painting, a framed photographic print, and a photographic print on canvas.  These six items brought in $3,200 for the CVFC.
Originally 75 ponies were to be auctioned; one was injured and withdrawn from the sale.  When more is known about his injuries and whether he will be sold publicly, I will post it in my blog.  The 74 ponies brought in a total of $416,550.  With the donated items mentioned above, this auction raised $419,750 for the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company.
Of the $416,550, the ten fillies who were designated as BuyBacks brought in $162,950, or an average of $16,295 each.  The highest bid on a BuyBack pony was $25,500; the lowest was $10,600.  The 64 foals sold to people to betaken home as personal riding or driving ponies brought in $256,800, for an average price of $4,012.50.  The highest bid on a personal pony was $9,300, and the lowest was $2,400.
As usual, I am listing the foal number, date of birth, color and sex, sire and dam.  If the foal is a BuyBack, the letters BB will be at the beginning and end of the listing.  If the foal is a Misty family member, there will be an asterisk next to the mare's name, as well as a notation of being a Misty descendant (5 sold today).  Only one lately taken photo of each pony will be shown, instead of the two or three I usually show.  Final bid is listed after the foal number.
Almost all photos are by DSC Photography, which has the copyright on the photos.
